Adding a chapter to the saga of her pain
Were the chameleon’s changing shades,
Making her so disdain.
The eyes traced with estranged love,
And words stained with empty promises
Stared at her face;
Yet she put her trust in the late-night walks
And
petals of roses.
“Life is a play” she was told –
“Of
truth and lie.
So you go your way and I go mine” –
She listened, and stared,
With
a cloud of disbelief.
Yet somehow, she breathed
A
sigh of relief.
’Cause now she knew their faces,
The unmasked ones……
Which knew no pain, so never learnt to love.
But she will let go, and never hold on;
And for those who share the thorns of her roses,
Her
heart will go on.
And a day will come,
When the void kisses will taste like
Blood
in those mouths,
And the spoken lies will sound like
Curses
to those ears
And the storms in her heart has kept count
Of the times her soul was stepped on
Over
the years…
Blessed they were,
By her
love that they had,
Ablaze they will be…
By the
flames of her wrath.
’Cause she is the dark sky and wild wind,
And the sheer brook flowing through mire;
She is mundane, but she is magic,
And there is no lie in her fire.
