BEST OF QUORA: WHAT MADE YOU SMILE TODAY

by: S.Thangavel I am working as a software engineer in an IT concern Bangalore. Today, I boarded into a BMTC bus to go to my office in the morning. It was very much crowded. The bus fare was 19 rupees. I gave 20 rupees to the bus conductor and asked for a ticket. He gave me the ticket to my office (for 19 rupees). He did not give the remaining one rupee. I asked him to give the one rupee and he told that he was not having 1 rupee change and he will give it to me when I am getting down. 3 other passengers were also travelling to my office. They also gave 20 rupees for a ticket and the conductor did not pay the remaining 1 rupees to each of them. I was observing this. Usually, when the bus reaches my office, nearly 30 or 40 passengers (all are IT employees) will get down and conductor can/will not give the change at that bus stop. He will keep that with himself (as a commission!!) That is why he will never give us the change at the time of giving a ticket even though he has ...

Baba..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Mohona The thoughts hovered around in my head, Of, The time I had left behind, Of, All those little precious moments I had lived, But only in my those little naps, Of the Dark nights. The oblivion did not flow throught the path, Where you stood in my deep memories, But only a figure very vague. The struggles of life seemed never ending, I became a woman, When my hands should have only be filled with toys, The mehendi adorned my little fingers, And the blood ornamented my legs. That age where my princess years should have been, I bore a terrible pain in my stomach, Through all the household chores, That I had been, since doing. The man that slept beside me, Every of the dull nights, Bore the  'sutta' smell. That reminded me of a time, When you would sing lullabies to me on the charpai, In a place called Home. Father, I have been a good girl you see! Just the way you h...

The Pennsylvania pair said a man dressed in a robe with a crown of thorns is looking at their baby from the far left of the image. "When they gave it to us, um, to me it's Jesus," mother Alicia Zeek told a local news station. She said the ultrasound gave them comfort after complications with two other pregnancies. The couple's previous son and daughter were both born with birth defects. Their first daughter has pre-axial polydactyly, meaning she had two thumbs on one hand, and their second child was born with a cleft palate, they  told Fox 43 . MOVIES THAT YOU MUST WATCH BEFORE YOU DIE: PART 1

We can see a Gil (Owen Wilson) and Inez (Rachel McAdams) who hardly understands each other are going to get  married in a few weeks, visits Paris. Gil, who is a very romantic man, enjoys long night walks and is not much attracted to the materialistic world. One such night, Gil travels back to era of Fitzgerald, Hemmingway, Picasso, Dali and many more stalwarts and falls in love with Picasso’s lover Adriana. Paris, city of illusion, is being portrayed beautifully in this movie and you are bound to fall in live with it even if you don’t like time travel movies. THE PIANIST:  The film is based on the autobiography of Wladyslaw Szpilman, who was playing Chopin on a Warsaw radio station when the first German bombs fell.

President Ram Nath Kovind presents the President's Colours to the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre

President Ram Nath Kovind presents the President's Colours to the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre today, August 21. These are normally presented to units that distinguish themselves consistently over decades. The Ladakh Scouts became a regular army regiment only in June 2001 after its stunning performance in the Kargil conflict, notes Ajai Shukla. The dramatic air landing of two Indian infantry battalions in Srinagar in October 1947, which drove back Pakistani tribal raiders from the outskirts of the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is the stuff legends are made of. As the Indian Army built up troops in Kashmir, the raiders were driven back, and Baramula, Uri and Tithwal liberated. But a similar, less known, crisis occurred in May 1948, when the capture of Kargil by tribal Lashkars left the routes to Leh open.   Defending Ladakh against the tribal hordes were just 33 men of the J-K state forces. Reinforcing the tiny Leh garrison were 20 volunteers, led by Lieutenant Colon...

WEIRDEST THING ON INTERNET

Cue in all the 'why did the chicken cross the road' jokes all you want - these chickens living at a Bed and Breakfast in the UK have a very good reason to cross the road. They've got the coolest pink vests on and crossing the road isn't a problem for them. Adorable videos and photos posted by Glenshieling House  on Facebook show the chickens wearing pink high-visibility vests so that they can cross the road safely.       The B&B's owner Louise Lennox came up with the idea after realising some of the 14 chickens living at Glenshieling House liked to wander off. "They normally stay in the garden but a couple of them like to go for a wee wander down the path and sometimes across the road," she told STV NEWS . "I just thought it would be a little bit of fun and would also keep the hens safe, so I put some vests on the wanderers." The vests have the words 'Glenshieling House Girl' printed on them along with th...
